MSNBC host Chris Matthews told The Daily Caller that he would still consider John F. Kennedy a hero and still would have written his new book “Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero” if his daughter had been one-time White House intern Mimi Alford.
Alford recently wrote “Once Upon a Secret: My Affair with President John F. Kennedy and Its Aftermath” about an affair she says started when she was 19 years old. In the book she claims Kennedy took her virginity and then asked her to perform oral sex on his aides. (RELATED: More on Chris Matthews)
TheDC caught up with Matthews on Monday at Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C., and asked if he would still revere Kennedy if his daughter, or perhaps a close friend, experienced what Alford had.
“It is a problem,” he admitted. “It’s one of the conundrums of having a hero like Kennedy.”

Uhhh, where's the part where Chris Matthews told the intern that she should shut up???!!!
Oh wait, I forgot that the seeded article was written by typical right-wing trash spewing out complete falsehoods. Never mind.

I think it is more concerning that Mr Matthews considers older men in positions of power who have sex with his daughter to be heroes.
Also interesting that he thinks that Pres Kennedy's sexual dalliances with a child are simply part of the conundrum of being a Kennedy. I wonder if he thinks that Chappaquiddick and the William Kennedy Smith escapade are simply part of the conundrum of being a Kennedy.
He seems to infer that he wants the author "to shut up" when he intones that he cannot understand why she wrote the book and opines that no one will buy it.
Thanks for the article

I have to say, the title is misleading. I watched the video and I didn't hear a "shut up" said or even implied.
He does seem to imply in a very carefully worded way that the motives for writing the book are suspect as is the story. I found that to be in very poor taste considering this subject was never brought up until the intern was forcibly outed in another book a few years ago. She herself had remain silent for decades until that book came out. It was only after that book and the media hunting this (now adult) intern down and exposing her identity to the public that she felt she needed to set the record straight in her own words rather than to let others tell it...rightly or wrongly. I can't say as I blame her.
