It's quite a story when pro-Obama bias becomes so blatant, even media elite point it out. Such is the case with coverage of new details about his past habitual drug use.
Two former Washington Post and New York Times reporters have published a scathing indictment of their ex-employers' double standard in reporting on the early lives of Obama and GOP White House hopeful Mitt Romney.
Center stage is biographer David Maraniss' new book, "Barack Obama: The Story." He reveals our president was a total pothead in high school and college. But not just any pothead. Seems Obama was an overachiever in that department.
Not content with inhaling from a joint, he invented a technique dubbed "total absorption," whereby he closed the windows of his car and took "roof hits."
Obama scored such great weed from his dealer, "Ray," that he cheekily thanked him in his high school yearbook. One of his close friends was arrested for drug possession in high school. A college roommate became a drug addict.
Yet these sordid details were buried by the Times. The nation's "paper of record" dispensed with them in a brief on Page A15.
