Obama somehow found time Wednesday to appear on "Entertainment Tonight" to defend himself from Mitt Romney's charge that he's conducting a "campaign of division and anger and hate."
"We've always tried to bring the country together," he claimed.
The truth matters, and in this case, the truth is that Obama's governing philosophy is to divide.
He made this obvious just days after taking office when during talks about stimulus legislation he reminded Republicans, "I won."
But the divisive attitude was around before he was elected. It was while campaigning in April 2008 that he dismissed small-town folks as "bitter" people who "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them" when they get frustrated.
It was also during the campaign when he told Joe the Plumber that he planned to "spread the wealth around."
